The third major category, in our journey of the review of ‘Best songs of 1950: And the winners are?’ is Duets. A Duet would mean a song which has two singers – which can be a male and female singer or a male and male or a female and a female singer. Our Hindi Films have all these varieties. Moreover, two male and a female or one male and two female (these generally have chorus in accompaniment, too) Triads, and some times even quadrats, also can seen.
When we take a very close look at all the songs of 1950, we get many examples of each of such sub-variation of duets. We will list them separately – for ease of listening and for future references.
Male – Female Duets is necessarily the most occurring and quite actively pursued types of duet songs.
