TIME and their photographers have done a marvelous job of capturing essence of the personalities in the three portraits I have chosen to publish here, out of their many other “TIME’s Best Portraits of 2011“.
Aung San Suu Kyi, the General Secretary of Burma’s National League for Democracy.

Henry Kissinger, former U.S. Secretary of State. From “10 Questions,” June 6, 2011, issue.

Steven Spielberg, director. From “Tintin in Hollywood,” Nov. 28, 2011, issue.

Here are two very stunning photographs, quite vocally telling the story of labors and pains that the participants at the Annual Republic Day parade undergo:
“January 17, 2012. Indian soldiers from the Border Security Forces, atop of camels, stand at attention in front of the Presidential Palace during a ceremony in preparation for the annual Beating Retreat in New Delhi, India.”

And another one…..
“January 18, 2012. Paramilitary soldiers of the Indian Border Security Force wait under a tree with their camels amidst winter morning fog before the start of Republic Day parade rehearsals in New Delhi, India.”
